FInal Film trailer

Today i completed my script for the trailer.

In the trailer i wanted to introduce to the audience briefly what characters are involved in the film, and create an initial impression for them. However, i dont want to reveal too much of the plot, and only give brief glimsps, finally, i want to end the trailer at a climax where the audience is left to find out what is going to happen.

My trailer starts by building up the cahracters background, here i suggest that she is a nice girl and also very likable, however i end with the narrator saying " but she wanted more", to set a more serious tone to the film.

AFter that, the trailer gives hints that the character is changing, and in order to create a suspense, i chose to end the trailer with a cliff hanger. Where the phone is unanswered, instead a voice machine is heard. to add the tense mood of the shot, i have chosen to black out the shot right before the line, tehrefore alienating the audience, and creating a sense of mysteriousness. Also, the ending will be ambigious we dont know what the last line " sorry the number you have dialled is temporarily unavailable" applies. Whether to his friends or to the modelling agent.

Final Film Script 20th September

After meeting up with the Cinematography, we nearly completed the film script, except for a few scenes which we need to discuss with the editor.

We had some difficulties with completing the script, even though the plot of the storyline had been figured out, there were many important details that needed to be filled in. After considering the difficulties of constructing some shots.

I.e In the first scene, creating a dreamlike sequences of the character on a catwalk. We realised that this would be very difficult as it would be difficult to find a suitable location, and also the dark atmosphere would be hard to film using the current cameras. Furthermore, the scene would need to be heavily edited to create the dreamlike sequence. instead we altered the storyline, after some discussion, as the director, i decided that we would try and emulate a different feel in the scene, and that we will be trying to reveal a nicer, and kinder side of the character instead of suggesting that she is spoilt and hungry for success.

Final Film Locations

After completing the draft of the script. I created a shortlist of the locations we needed. I listed out the locations within the film, and selected possible places to shoot for the locations. I will be presenting the short list to team members, and we will be coming up with a final list of locations.

Final Film Idea

We finally settled on the Fox and the Crow fable.

We will be modernizing it by changing the characters:

Crow- will be changed into a fashionable girl, who dresses in very up to date, preppy, flashy clothes. She is very pretty, and attractive, with lots of self confidence

Fox- A sly scammer from a modelling agency.

http://www.eastoftheweb.com/short-stories/UBooks/FoxCrow.shtml

and example piece of dialogue :

" how gloss your boots, how sharp your sunglasses, i feel your purse must surpass that of other woman, just as your dress does; let me see about it at one glance from you , that i mayg reet you as the queen of fashion"

In order to extend the storyline, we will be adding additional character(s) who try to warn her of the scam, however she ignores them.

Also we will try and set up the story by introducing the crow with many close ups and flashy edits, and try to replicate a catwalk tone. to highlight her fashion consious image.

Final Film

So far we have decided on our roles.

Director: Me
Camera man: Winston
Editor: Su li

other roles will be shared out...

Our original idea was to modernize a Lotr style adventure..however we realised that our idea would be very difficult to be created on screen as it would require many actors and many locations and also a longer film time.

We settled on a new theme about Fables. We are aiming to reference a fable by modernizing it, but keeping the backbone of the story the same, especially the moral of the story.

Today we finalized on a few fables or stories. They were:
- Goldilocks
-The fox and the crow
- the hare and the tortoise.
